Hello!  Thank you so much for your interest in Haven for your massage therapy and wellness needs.

My name is Kim Burlage.  I started my career going down a completely different path!  I started with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Sociology from Wartburg College, and then a Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Iowa.  For more than 12 years I worked in employment and training services for individuals with disabilities, including 8 years as a program lead.  

I started researching Trauma-Informed Care several years back, and ultimately lead the development of the Trauma-Informed Care program for the business I worked for.  I wanted to do more, and I wanted to combine my joy at helping people heal, my research into energy work, and my research into trauma.

I like to say 'I bought a purse and solve my existential crisis.'  That's a story for another time, but we could certainly call my decision to join the field of massage therapy a lightning bolt.  The best possible kind.  What better way to connect one on one, and facilitate the healing we are all capable of!

I joined the Part-Time program at Carlson College of Massage Therapy, graduating in August 2017.  The pieces began to fall into place so that I could do what I felt led to do in order to help my clients feel and be their best!

Then, in September 2017, I became certified in Manual Lymph Drainage (Vodder Technique) to be able to provide another important healing tool. Schedule an appointment to learn more!
